“During the Covid 19 pandemic respiratory protective FFP3 face-masks were found to be ill-fitting and uncomfortable during long shifts.
Staff often experienced discomfort and pain particularly over the nose and cheek bones where there is little soft tissue covering hard bony parts.
We realised that by combining the modern technologies of 3D imaging and the 3D printing of soft materials we could create bespoke masks, shaped to the contour of individual faces."

Comfort encourages correct mask use
Respiratory protective equipment (RPE) is the last line of defence against work-related lung disease (HSE:HSG53). Thousands of people die from work-related lung diseases every year, in many cases due to exposures that took place many years before.
Diseases like, asbestosis, silicosis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, emphysema and even lung cancer, all cause severe, often incurable, health problems that can ruin lives.
Yet, as far back as 2010 research commissioned by HSE found: “Discomfort (restrictive, sweaty), especially over long periods of use” to be a key factor in Respiratory Protective Equipment misuse among workers (HSE:RR798).

The British Standards Institution (BSI) has developed this guide to ensure that employers select PPE that provides proper fit, comfort and protection without regard to gender, body shape, ethnicity or religious factors.

No more compromise with half masks that are uncomfortable to wear and don’t fit properly.
We use 3D scanning technology to create a mesh of your face, which we use to design your custom-made half-mask. We use 3D printing to make the fully customised nose piece, conformed to your facial geometry.

Half-mask respirators-as-a-service
Take out an annual subscription, direct or through your chosen supplier, and you can guarantee that every employee will have a personalised half-mask respirator available when they need it together with a regular supply of filters.
Each mask has a unique serial number, including the user's initials embossed, on the nose bridge. During the subscription you can easily follow COSHH requirements for recording correct maintenance processes
Scan
Contact us to arrange to scan your employees faces either on site or at a local office.
Fit test
Use your chosen face fit tester (or our recommendation) to test the masks for each employees (pass first time, the masks have been made for each individual!)
Use
Use the masks at work, receive filters as you need them, and maintain according to COSHH regulations.
Recycle
Send the masks back to Mask Logic after their working life so all the elements can be recycled and help to reduce waste.
