“During the Covid 19 pandemic respiratory protective FFP3 face-masks were found to be ill-fitting and uncomfortable during long shifts.
Staff often experienced discomfort and pain particularly over the nose and cheek bones where there is little soft tissue covering hard bony parts.
We realised that by combining the modern technologies of 3D imaging and the 3D printing of soft materials we could create bespoke masks, shaped to the contour of individual faces."

Better Fit for Difficult-to-fit Faces
First, people who find it difficult to get a face fit test pass have a better chance with the IdealFIT 100. The combination of our soft-body shapes and custom nose bridge offers people a greater potential for great fit, not just a pass, than standard size, small, medium or large masks.

Second, because it is made for an individual face using soft materials it is comfortable to wear, minimises irritation and seals properly at the nose bridge avoiding safety goggle fog. It discourages people from taking it off when they shouldn’t, encouraging compliance.

Respiratory protective equipment (RPE) is the last line of defence against work-related lung disease. Thousands of people die from work-related lung diseases every year, in many cases due to exposures that took place many years before.
Diseases like, asbestosis, silicosis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, emphysema and even lung cancer, all cause severe, often incurable, health problems that can ruin lives.
Yet, as far back as 2010 research commissioned by HSE found: “Discomfort (restrictive, sweaty), especially over long periods of use” to be a key factor in Respiratory Protective Equipment misuse among workers (HSE:RR798).
